    Special Needs Program

Richmond is a club which provides both girls and boys with an opportunity to play soccer at both an elite level and recreational level.

In 2009 the Richmond JSC Management Committee made a decision to make the club even more inclusive by providing an opportunity for children with an intellectual or physical disability to also play at Richmond.

We have had a lot of support from the Yarra City Council, in particular from Peter Mitten who works in the Access All Abilites area of the council, and also from other clubs who have established similar teams.

Junior Eagles is a program for boys and girls aged 8–15 yrs old with special needs who wish to play the world game. They will learn the skills of the game in a small group environment, where the focus is on fun, participation and making new friends.
The program is being run on Saturdays at Bastow Oval, Kevin Bartlett Sporting & Recreation Complex (Melway Ref: 59 A1).

The program will restart in 2012 in May.

Players will receive a team shirt, shorts, socks, team photo and trophy.

If you know of anyone who has a child with special needs who might like to give soccer a go and be a part of the Junior Eagles, please contact Annette Hall on 0411 460 567 or email annette

    Girls Programs

The Richmond Soccer Club is dedicated to the delivery of a quality girls soccer program of equal calibre to the boys

We have a dedicated girls coach coordinator to oversee the program. Glenn Harrison was appointed in 2010 and liases with the Director of coaching to ensure consistency within the programs offered to the girls and boys

In 2012 we will run teams in the under 8/9 and 10/11 SSF , under 12's, under 14's and under 15/16 and are hoping to have an open women's team

Mick Gayfer Girls under 12 coach

Before joining Richmond 4 years ago Michael (Mick) Gayfer’s only soccer experience was playing an occasional social game and watching the Socceroos play. That has not stopped him from bringing a fresh perspective to junior coaching and in so doing becoming a popular and sought after coach. Understandably his time as an AFL Collingwood footballer and 1990 premiership player has contributed to his growing reputation at Richmond.

He is both professional and passionate about his coaching which is best described as positive and encouraging in style and rates his greatest achievement to date as “seeing the development & improvement of the girls I have coached during the last 3 years.” With such a positive attitude it may not be long till Mick helps his team to a premiership of its own!

    SSF programs

    SSF 2012 Richmond

The Richmond Soccer Club SSF program follows the FFV guidelines and is designed to meet the developmental requirement of the younger footballer with a strong focus on participation and enjoyment.

The training for the ages 6-11  age group at Richmond is an academy style implemented under the direction of the Director of Coaching, Rick Wilson.
The clubs training for the younger ages will follow this format that allows players to reach their full potential.
