Special Needs Program
Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 10:30PM Richmond is a club which provides both girls and boys with an opportunity to play soccer at both an elite level and recreational level.
In 2009 the Richmond JSC Management Committee made a decision to make the club even more inclusive by providing an opportunity for children with an intellectual or physical disability to also play at Richmond.
We have had a lot of support from the Yarra City Council, in particular from Peter Mitten who works in the Access All Abilites area of the council, and also from other clubs who have established similar teams.
Junior Eagles is a program for boys and girls aged 8–15 yrs old with special needs who wish to play the world game. They will learn the skills of the game in a small group environment, where the focus is on fun, participation and making new friends.
The program is being run on Saturdays at Bastow Oval, Kevin Bartlett Sporting & Recreation Complex (Melway Ref: 59 A1).
The program will restart in 2012 in May.
Players will receive a team shirt, shorts, socks, team photo and trophy.
If you know of anyone who has a child with special needs who might like to give soccer a go and be a part of the Junior Eagles, please contact Annette Hall on 0411 460 567 or email annette
